Open Barn!

  • Penacook Historical Society, 11 Penacook Street, Penacook 11 Penacook Street Penacook, NH, 03303 United States (map)

We’re partnering with the Abbot-Downing Historical Society (ADHS) to open the 1790 Rolfe Barn for a community event! Bring the family and explore this historical barn full of the ADHS’s 19th century vehicles – most of which were made right in Concord. From Concord coaches to wagons to sleighs and other unique vehicles, there’s something for everyone. The ADHS is even bringing a special red coach for up-close display in the yard.

The event is free and open to all. Donations are welcome to support future exciting community events. The Abbot-Downing vehicles cannot be out in the rain, so the event will be cancelled in advance in case of rain.

This project was made possible with support from New Hampshire Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities. Learn more at www.nhhumanities.org.

Last year, we partnered with the Abbot-Downing Historical Society of Concord, NH to bring a collection of Concord Coaches and other historical vehicles to the 1790 Rolfe Barn. The arrival of the caravan made headlines in The Concord Monitor and drew crowds of excited onlookers. Now is your chance to see those vehicles and more as we open the doors of the 1790 Rolfe Barn for a community-wide event.

Free and open to all. Donations are welcome to support the nonprofit Penacook Historical Society in New Hampshire and Abbot-Downing Historical Society of Concord, NH.

This event was made possible with support from our community and from New Hampshire Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities. Learn more at www.nhhumanities.org.
