The Latest and Greatest!!!

We have acquired the necessary permits to relocate the 1774 Rolfe House to a more suitable location which is the field on the other side of the Rolfe Barn. Ground breaking for the new foundation should happen around the middle of September. Our plan is to build the foundation this Fall and move the House early next year.

Steve Fifield is the Contractor for this project because there is none better. His work can be seen in the 1790's Rolfe Barn in which he rebuilt the foundation and sills to keep the Barn standing for many years to come. That is our goal for the 1774 House, it has been sitting on field stone for some 100 years and even though it hasn't been inhabitated for 60+ years, it has sunk into the ground. So, we decided since we had to put it on a new foundation we would have it moved to a more spacious area that could be appreciated by those that drive by during their relaxing jaunt down Penacook Street.

If you would like to donate towards this project or the Rolfe Historic District, you know that it would be put to good use. We are a Non-profit that is staffed with volunteers that do not collect salaries, meaning 100% of your donation will go towards the up-keep and repair of the properties of the Rolfe Family Historic District.
