Buildings & Grounds Committee

This committee is responsible for oversight of construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and grounds-keeping activities on the Rolfe Homestead property and is responsible to ensure that the architectural integrity of the historical buildings is preserved.

 

West side subcommittee

Specific tasks

  • Negotiate and oversee all contracts for rehabilitation of the Rolfe Barn and Nathaniel Rolfe (1774) House, including architectural consultants and contractors. 
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance of all buildings and grounds west of Penacook Street.
  • Negotiate rental agreements and oversee tenants of 1998 House.
  • Interface with Finance Committee to ensure adequate insurance coverage.
  • Provide budgetary needs to Finance Committee for inclusion in annual budget.
  • Maintain minutes of committee meetings.
  • Provide report to Board of Directors at each board meeting.

 

East side subcommittee

Specific tasks

  • Negotiate and oversee all contracts for maintenance of the Abiel Rolfe (1834) House, including architectural consultants and contractors. 
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance of all buildings and grounds east of Penacook Street.
  • Evaluate opportunities to increase energy efficiency of 1834 House.
  • Interface with Finance Committee to ensure adequate insurance coverage.
  • Provide budgetary needs to Finance Committee for inclusion in annual budget.
  • Maintain minutes of committee meetings.
  • Provide report to Board of Directors at each board meeting.
